BTS Member JIN Showed His Cooking Skills On MBC’s “Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island”

In a recent episode of MBC’s variety show “Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island”, the BTS member Jin appeared as a special guest. The eldest member of the BTS group appeared along with Ahn Jung Hwan, B1A4’s Sandeul, and Kim Nam Il. Two chefs were also in the episode, Lee Hong Woon and Lee Yeon Bok. All of them embarked on a journey to start a restaurant on a new island. Jin who was the focused celebrity on the show, impressed everyone with his cooking skills. The episode of Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island featuring BTS member JIN aired on the channel on Monday, August 26, 2024. JIN went to the new location of the show, which was an abandoned island where the host of the show Ahn Jung Hwan along with Kim Nam Il, B1A4’s Sandeul, chefs Lee Yeon Bok, and Lee Hong Woon, tried to open a hotel. In a bid to open a hotel, the celebrities embarked on to find the edible items on the abandoned island.

Nielsen Korean reported that the August 26th episode of Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island featuring JIN recorded a record-breaking viewership rating across the country, 5.3 percent to become the top-rated variety show in its time slot. It was the 16th consecutive week when MBC’s variety show “Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island” was ranked number 1 with the highest nationwide viewership rating. In addition, Nielsen Korea also claimed that ‘Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island’ was also ranked number 1 among all Monday variety shows, thanks to the participation of globally acclaimed K-pop artist BTS’s JIN who just recently completed his military services.

Speaking the August 26th episode of Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island, showed the team was tasked to check the availability of food items shortly after arriving on the island. JIN was excited and quite confident to catch TUNA and crafted a makeshift fishing rod. The host of the show, Ahn Jung Hwan was doubtful of BTS member’s claim to have caught a tuna fish in the sea. However, he went on to help JIN in making the fishing rod. Meanwhile, JIN made the first food discovery of the day by catching the sea cucumber. The team members went to a mountain while the chefs were setting up the kitchen. Ahn Jung Hwan who had the most experience of surviving outside, was the first to find a type of root vegetable called “Deodeok” followed by the BTS member and Sandeul.

After collecting the food items, the team returned to the kitchen where chefs welcomed them with a hand-pulled dough soup. Jin along with the chefs prepared a dish of deodeok salad, showcasing JIN’s cooking skills which left everyone impressed. After that, the team went for the second round to hunt shellfish on the tidal flats. Nonetheless, Sandeul along with JIN caught some crabs. JIN also caught some clams while enjoying his time at “Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island“. While cooking the dish, JIN demonstrated how to flip the pancake flawlessly, boasting his impressive cooking skills. JIN’s wild-caught clam pancake was better than Ahn Jung Hwan’s discerning palate.
